New feature page: Best of B-flower

very best of b-flower 2CD

New feature page for The Very Best of B-flower 2CD Japan release is now ready :)

This is not a Sugarfrost release, but the very first Best Of by our friends B-flower is something to celebrate! We have gathered nice comments from indiepop people around Sugarfrost - please read :)

We have some copies of this Japanese CD for sale. Availability is limited and I'd imagine hard to restock. If you're interested, please place your order soonish, thanks!

2 new b-flower releases

2 new songs released by B-flower and its alias Livingstone Daisy recently. Both on their own Seeds Records, download from iTunes Store.

B-flower - (I will never send my children to) War to Kill - is a Dylan-esque protest song, the first of its kind for the band.

Livingstone Daisy - Desire - is something totally different. And also the first of its kind for the band. This is their "Missing the Moon"!

Frosty 11 sold out

Our last copy of Fugu single (frosty 11, 1995) is sold and gone yesterday, within 2 hours of Mehdi of Fugu himself shared the Sugarfrost shop post on Facebook. This makes the remaining Sugarfrost releases in stock just 8 out of 16 (including a few other near-soldout), we're on to the second half...

We have pressed 500 of this Fugu single. However, there was a trouble with the sleeve printing and possibly also the pressing (I can't recall exact details, I'm afraid), resulting a lot less went to distribution, making this a rare release from the beginning.

This is a treasure of a record for us, proudly different, honoured to have ours being his debut single. Read more about this release here.

Penny Arcade: Japanese C86-era indiepop

There's a whole lot of C86 revivals going on but have you heard anything from Japan from those days?

Penny Arcade is one of the very few Japanese indie bands, like our B-flower, contemporary to C86 era. The first gig I have ever organized in 1988  (under Boshi Label name) featured them, along with Lollipop Sonic (pre-Flipper's Guitar) and Debonaire.

Sorry, my Pastels badge isn't for sale...

I have tweeted about my long-lost treasure box of 80s badges found the other day. And someone even emailed us wanting to offer a good price for my Pastels badge!

Sorry, I'm not going to sell it or any of them. To be honest, those music I so much cared about when I was an "indie-kid" aren't that precious to me any more. But I feel differently to those badges. It is a bit like hanging onto my copies of Are You Scared to Get Happy.

There are some things in life that no replacement will do. Money can't buy your memories and that air that was there.
